Although some businesses have been able to return to normal, many people, businesses and communities will feel the effects of Hurricane Irene for a long time. The American Rental Association is happy to report, that due to emergency preparedness and planning, most of their rental company members in the affected areas, have sustained minimal damage to their rental businesses.
Having experienced minimal damage, many equipment rental companies were able to get back to business right away, renting out generators, and other tools and equipment to help people clean up in the aftermath of the storm.
Well prepared Party and Event rental companies report canceling events all over the East coast, to help keep event goers safe. While some events were able to be rescheduled, many had to be postponed or canceled. Event rental companies made the decision to decline to set up tents at outdoor events, which was met with mixed reactions of anger, praise, and thankfulness, from those putting on the events.
All over the East Coast events were canceled due to safety. Weddings, Sports Events, Festivals, Fundraisers, and Music Events, were shut down due to Hurricane Irene. Now Event Rental companies will try to help people reschedule their event, and may offer deals to those affected by the cancelations.
All in all, safety is the most important thing, and the decision by party and event rental companies to stop the potential risk to their clients was wise, and should go without question, even though canceling an event is very disappointing for those involved.
