In spite of the current recession, Rental Companies from all over North America have been determined to give back, and support various causes in the communities where they do business. Heavy Equipment Rental Companies in particular, have done a surprising amount of fundraising for different charities, when renting out equipment painted for a cause.
The Volvo Rents’ Color For A Cause Program, has been widely successful, with franchises painting boom lifts different colors to support a variety of worthy causes. The Volvo Rents’ Color For A Cause originally saw several franchise members painting lift equipment pink, in support of breast cancer awareness, and research. There are still many charity-branded machines operating all over the country raising money for breast cancer research, and promoting Susan G. Komen for the cure.
As reported in an earlier Blog post on Rentcharlie.com, a Volvo Rents rental store owner in Alabama painted one of their boom lifts bright yellow with colored jigsaw puzzle pieces in an effort to raise money for Autism Awareness. A portion of the proceeds from the rental of the boom lift will go to this cause.
Another Volvo Rents franchise in Little Rock, Arkansas has painted a Genie S-85 bright green and yellow, with the message “This machine will work for food”, and has raised a lot of money for the Arkansas Food Bank Network. Arkansas Rentals & Sales feels it’s very important to help local people immediately in their state, one of the poorest states, in a recession ravaged country. Store owner, Troy Dodd, knows that he, and his employees are fortunate to have so much, when others have so little, and in addition to the money raised by the Genie rental, he encourages his employees to give their time to food drives and food bank events.
Rental Store owners are glad to be able to give back to their communities, and support causes that hit them, their families, or their employees close to home.
Rental Store owners are finding that many businesses and construction managers are also very glad to rent the charity supporting equipment for their job-sites. They are happy to be supporting worthwhile causes, and to raise awareness for these causes by renting such a visible machine for their job-site.
Even though times are tough, and the rental community has felt the effects of the recession, people are still determined to help others, and give back to their communities.
