I just got back from a road trip to Vancouver, Canada, where the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom, and the city is alive with sights and sounds. Our family enjoyed the Vancouver Aquarium, and Stanley Park, as well as trips to the beach, sea-walks, and hiking.
Vancouver can be very lovely in the spring, and year round there are lots of great attractions and activities to enjoy.
One of the things that made our stay even more enjoyable was finding a delightful Bed and Breakfast to accommodate us on our holiday. We often stay in a hotel when we travel, but this trip we sought the welcoming, friendly atmosphere of a B&B.
It can take a bit more research to find the Bed and Breakfast to suit your needs or desires, but these hidden gems offer travelers delightful, and charming accommodation, and reward you with things you may not get from a hotel.
The Mountain Bed and Breakfast in North Vancouver, where we stayed, is a perfect example of this. Our family was able to enjoy an entire suite, with two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a sitting area. The patio doors in the bedrooms let out onto a deck, and the backyard, where my son could play. The yard was pleasant, and quiet, and after sitting in the car for days, we all needed to be able to relax in the fresh air.
After the full days of sightseeing, our young children would probably not have sat still in a restaurant. So having use of a kitchen was great, allowing us to prepare our own evening meals, while the kids could play, and be kids.
The separate bedrooms were great, too, as the kids could be put to bed early, while we could remain up later, and not worry about waking them. For those traveling with a baby, there was even a crib available.
Our B&B hosts prepared delicious breakfasts for us each morning, which gave us a good start to each day. Along with the great food, they served up excellent travel tips, directions, and worthwhile places to visit.
These are the things we enjoyed about staying in a Bed and Breakfast. During our trip we also enjoyed a Cabin rental for the night, where we also had a kitchen, use of a BBQ, and we were situated right beside a lovely stream, and hiking trails. If you like these styles of accommodations, you'll experience first rate hospitality, and features hotels often don't have.
