Take a Hike GPS, a Virginia-based company has opened a new online rental store, where they rent out GPS units for travelers, hikers, and geocachers.
Take a Hike knows that navigating with a GPS is the popular way to traverse the globe, and more and more people are wanting to have the use of a GPS unit for recreational activities.
GPS units can be expensive, and may not be in everyone’s budget. Or you may only need the use of a GPS on a particular holiday, or for a short time frame, and you may not wish to invest in one. Or perhaps it’s a case of trying one out before buying a GPS. At any rate, Take a Hike has recognized this need in the market, and offers people an affordable way to use a GPS, by renting one.
Take A Hike rents three different GPS units for either automotive use and sightseeing, or for outdoor recreational activities. GPS units come pre-loaded with maps of the United States. For an additional fee, international maps are available.
Customers wanting to rent a GPS merely fill out an online form to reserve their GPS rental. GPS rentals are delivered by mail. Customers can return the GPS unit when the rental is over using a postage pre-paid box, that comes with the rental.
Due to the increase in popularity of geocaching, Take a Hike offers a geocaching GPS rental package for groups wanting to have a geocaching party. The package includes a four day GPS rental, of five GPS units, and official geocaching containers. Packages for larger groups are also available. The geocacher GPS rental package perfect for clubs such as girl or boy scouts, and school groups.
