Built in Victoria BC in 1978 by the current owner/operator, THANE is fashioned out of recycled materials salvaged from industrial sites and character buildings. Heavily framed and planked in yellow cedar, THANE is modeled after Joshua Slocum's SPRAY, the first vessel to circumnavigate single-handed in 1895. Take the helm, climb the rigging or sit back and relax. Sailing daily. No minimum number required. Bring along a picnic. All ages and abilities welcome. The Tall Ship THANE is Victoria's longest running marine tour providing safe passage since 1978. Tall Ship THANE is featured on the History Channel, the Travel Channel and won Frommer's Guide 2005 "Best Way to Spend an Afternoon in Victoria".
